Intuitive mixed-media painting
The intuitive marks in the first layer were made initially as an exercise to make an ugly painting using the complimentary colours of red and green. As more layers were added the heart shape emerged and it became a metaphor for growth, healing and acceptance. The title refers to the process of nuturing oneself to encourage a more natural state of being, a coming back to self from externally imposed circumstances.
