Blue whales are the largest animals to have ever lived on Earth (even bigger than the dinosaurs), reaching lengths of up to 100 feet (30 meters) and weighing as much as 200 tons. Their hearts alone can weigh as much as a small car, and their calls can travel hundreds of miles underwater, making them one of the loudest animals on the planet.
Despite their massive size, blue whales feed almost exclusively on tiny shrimp-like creatures called krill. During feeding season, they can consume up to 4 tons of krill per day!
